Furniture
Casework constitutes most of the furniture built here. There have been tables, too, and a few chairs.

Solid built, real, solid wood furniture gets built in this workshop. Solid built furniture is not made by using dowels to join boards; it gets made using mortar and tenon, and tongue-in-groove construction. Generally speaking, it is heavy and substantial.
The beauty solid wood brings to each piece of furniture doesn’t distill into an easy description. Using solid lumber and showing it in the completed work means that each piece of furniture is unique. Because this wood comes from a living tree the lumber shows the life of that tree. Wood from different trees, even trees of the same species, can vary in grain, color or figure, which is, in many ways, like the differences found between every human being.
Furniture should last beyond just one location of usage. Lots of what is used as furniture these days gets assembled after it arrives at where it will be used. A good bit of it gets turned into trash when its owners move to a new location. People deserve better - and should act better - than to treat the things that are a part of their lives as disposable.
